My Post 36

Animal lives are in extreme danger! We URGENTLY need fosters for medium to large size dogs with kennel cough. Our isolation space is full, and the State of Kansas will not allow us to make them available for adoption. Their only options are going to foster care, or euthanasia.

Kennel cough is contagious and similar to a doggy cold. It causes sneezing and coughing, and symptoms generally last for a few weeks. KHS provides fosters with everything needed to care for the animal. There is no cost to foster for KHS and save a life!

Donors can help Kansas Humane Society (KHS) win part of $200,000 in cash prizes to fund life-saving work to help pets in need.

You can get involved by making a donation to KHS through our challenge site, or by joining the team to help us fundraise. Prize money from this challenge would have a HUGE impact on KHS and our mission to help homelss animals. To help KHS win the Fund the Shelters Challenge, visit https://www.crowdrise.com/o/en/campaign/kansashumanesociety-fts and login to donate.

The Fund the Shelters Challenge is a month-long online fundraising competition where hundreds of animal welfare organizations from across the country compete for grant prize money. The Fund the Shelters Challenge is presented by Michelson Found Animals and NBC and Telemundo owned stations.

To raise money and awareness to support animal adoption and services that promote the bond between humans and animals, Kansas Humane Society will compete for up to $200,000 in cash prizes in the Fund the Shelters Challenge at https://www.crowdrise.com/o/en/campaign/kansashumanesociety-fts. KHS finds homes and placement for over 11,000 animals each year. The Fund the Shelters Challenge will help KHS with the cost of providing medical care and a safe and clean environment for animals during their stay. As part of our mission to reduce Wichita's pet overpopulation, the KHS clinic performs over 9,000 spay/neuter surgeries each year. The cost of this service is immense and prize money from the Fund the Shelters Challenge will help to continue this important work.

The Fund the Shelters Challenge launched on CrowdRise by GoFundMe on Tuesday, April 9 at 11 am CST and will continue through Thursday, May 9 at 12: 59:59 pm CST.

The organization that raises the most during the Challenge wins a $50,000 donation, second place gets $35,000, third gets $20,000, fourth gets $15,000, fifth gets $10,000, and sixth gets $5,000. Weekly Bonus Challenges enable charities to win up to another $65,000 in prize money.
