The 3-3-3 Rule is a general guideline. Every pet is unique and will adjust to its new home at different paces. Patience is always key!
In the first 3 Days, your new pet may feel overwhelmed, scared, and unsure of what is going on. They may not feel comfortable being themselves, and this is very normal. Monitor your pet's stress, and give them time and space to adjust to their new home.
In the first 3 Weeks, your new pet will start to settle into their home and begin to feel more comfortable. They will begin to realize that this place could be their new forever home. As they become more comfortable, they may begin to test the boundaries of their surroundings. Be patient with your pet and correct them with training to help them learn.
Within 3 Months, your pet will have finally started to feel comfortable in their new home. A bond of love and trust will have formed, and your pet will understand they are a part of a family now!
As always, if you have any questions about behavior or medical concerns, please contact your primary vet.
