We're thrilled that we help thousands of pets find new homes every year. Here are some recent submissions of Happy Tails! We also post a daily adoption recap post on our Facebook page: Kansas Humane Society.
“Bo Peep, who is now known as Nimbus, is the playful and loving kitty we had been searching for. Her rainy “gotcha day” and grey fur required a name change, and “Nimbus” has been most fitting; her thunderous personality and round nature make her our perfect cloud. In the year we have had her, Nimbus has learned many things about the world, including how to be a good sister to our other fur baby (also from the Humane Society), how to get the zoomies out, and how to make her family laugh from her shenanigans! We love our sweet Nimbus and are so happy we chose the Humane Society as the place to end our kitty search!
"Nitro, now named Boots, has tripled in size and has bonded with our Shih Tzu, Squeak. They play constantly. Only shared sleeping space once so far, but spent the day chasing each other and sharing toys. Follows either me or my wife around the house. Loves his feet rubbed, and when he can sit still, having his belly pet. Too awesome of a kitty."
"A few months after we moved in, when the boxes were finally unpacked and the rooms started to feel like ours, we realized something was still missing, and then we met Shadow. From the moment we saw him, there was this instant connection, like he had been waiting for us just as much as we were unknowingly waiting for him. He was gentle and sweet, with those big, curious eyes, and the second we brought him home, he fit right in like he’d always been part of our little family."
"He is the best curtain/doorway climber I have ever met. We just love this little guy to pieces. He is either crazy and making us giggle or the best snuggler. The name he had was Bill Cipher, which definitely matched him. We couldn't have picked a better kitten."
"When we adopted Maggie, she was terrified of everybody and everything. She would barely let us touch her. Now she is the sweetest cuddle bug and loves to sit on my lap while we watch our shows!"
"We adopted Anna Lee in December. Just wanted to let you know she's thriving. Such a sweet soul. We call her Anna."
"Before getting Rocky Road, our home was full of love with two chocolate labs. Unfortunately, some complications arose, and we lost our girl, Ruby. Our boy, Bear, had lost his spark. We were sad, unsure about another dog, and then we saw Mr. Rocky Road! He’s so sweet, full of cuddles, loves ice and treats, hates the complete dark, and loves his big brother! They both have such a spark and play so often. Thank you for giving us our Rocky Road, it saved Bear and us just the same!"
"After losing our 14 year old kitty to cancer, we adopted Halo from KHS to help heal our broken hearts and she's been the purr-fect little addition to our family. We are completely in love with her cuteness and posh personality."
"In 2021, I adopted Milo from KHS, and he’s been my best friend ever since. He turned my lonely apartment into a warm, loving home. I love him so much and couldn’t have asked for a more perfect cat."
”Just wanted to update you on Moose
He's doing great and fitting into our home well! He's mouth breather and loves to play
Shows affection with koala hugs and tongue blep ever so slightly
