ANIMAL RESCUES

The Kansas Humane Society is dedicated to helping post and network animals in need of placement with rescue partners in the state of Kansas and across the country. Through posting and networking animals at Wichita Animal Services and KHS, we are able to help animals with barriers to adoption find appropriate placement where they can thrive. Our rescue team is passionate and devoted to helping these animals get the resources they need to be loving family pets and we are immensely grateful to our rescue partners that share in that passion and mission. We strive to create respectful and collaborative relationships with partner agencies to better animal welfare in our community.

Thank you for your interest in helping our mission to save the lives of animals in need. Partnership is a crucial part of the lifesaving work that we do and we are forever grateful to our rescue partners. KHS partners with 501(c)(3) agencies licensed as a rescue in their state and deemed to be in good standing by the Kansas Department of Agriculture. We follow requirements outlined in the Kansas Pet Animal Act (KPAA) and all applicable state regulations regarding transfer of animals. According to Kansas state regulations, only organizations that are licensed in their state are eligible transfer partners for animal placement. Any animal that is crossing state lines is required to follow all transfer requirements for the sending organization and the receiving organization.
